Advertise With UsCRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – An aged man is in vital situation after his SUV was rear-ended Friday night.
Troopers say the crash occurred round 6:30 p.m. on US 70 close to mile marker 403 which is about three miles from the Cove Metropolis exit.
Sanford Barnes, 82, was driving a pink Toyota Forerunner when he was hit from behind by a pickup truck, in response to freeway patrol.
That truck was pushed by 65-year-old William Edmundson who was heading east on US 70 together with two passengers, troopers say.
When Edmundson’s truck bumped into the again of Barnes’ SUV, it prompted Barnes’ automobile to spin uncontrolled, run off the highway and flip into the median.
Barnes was taken to Carolina East Medical Heart and is in vital situation.
Edmundson had minor accidents, and was cited for failing to cut back velocity.
The opposite two folks in his truck weren’t harm.
The collision investigation remains to be ongoing.
